About Us
In 2020, while the world was shut down, we gathered together to pray and worship. We, by the Grace of God, were able to establish The House of Prayer. As we know from church history, any time 24/7 worship is established- revival breaks out. Our Prayer for the Portales House of Prayer is that it will be a place where believers (from all different backgrounds, churches and walks of life) can gather together to pray and worship the one true God; a place where his glory can dwell, a picture of heaven here on earth; and as a result we will see revival!
“these I will bring to my holy mountain,
and make them joyful in my house of prayer;
their burnt offerings and their sacrifices
will be accepted on my altar;
for my house shall be called a house of prayer
for all peoples.” - Isaiah 56:7 ESV
We believe that God is able to save, to deliver and to heal. We also believe that prayer is powerful and God moves powerfully through it. With eyes of faith we see revival breaking out in our churches, our community and even throughout the world for nothing is impossible for God!
Why David is the Reference Point for Revival
We believe that the Davidic order of worship is the reference point for revival. David’s Tabernacle was unique; completely set apart from any previous order of Worship. When David established this tabernacle, there was a Radical shift not just in the order of worship, but in the nation. By the end of David’s reign; they were a nation united in serving God with rest from their enemies. So what did David do differently than his predecessors? David sought the Heart of God, realizing its more than sacrificing animals, that “The sacrifices of God are a broken and contrite heart that God will not despise” Psalm 51:17. Worship would no longer follow the Aaronic order and would now be known as the Melchizedek Order of Worship. In 1 Chron. 16, we also see that David established 24/7 worship, along with 7 other essential elements that became the foundation of his ministry unto the Lord. From the time of David, throughout all of history, it is clear that revival comes from a people (or person) truly Alive in Christ; and that when this form of worship is established, the result is always revival. God’s word says, “In that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David that is fallen and repair its breaches, I will raise up it’s ruins and rebuild it as in the days of old.”(Amos 9:11) From this, we know that Davidic worship is pleasing to the Lord, as it is the worship he chooses to rebuild. “There are 8 key elements extracted from scripture that David implemented when ministering unto the Lord as a corporate body; and we, who are alive in Christ, can implement them again today:
The 8 key pillars in reference to Davids Tabernacle
-Continual Worship and Intercession (1Chron.16:37-42)
-Corporate Worship and Intercession (1Chron.25:6-7)
-Intergenerational Worship (1 Chron.25:8)
-Ethnically Diverse (1Chron.13:14)
-Expressive Worship (Psalm101:2,131:2,46:10)
-Prophetic flow (1Chron. 25:1)
-Pure God Centered Worship and intercession (1Chron. 15:14)
-Sacrificial Worship and Intercession (Psalm 27)
“Time spent in prayer will yield more than that given to work. Prayer alone gives work its worth and its success. Prayer opens the way for God Himself to do His work in us and through us. Let our chief work, as God’s messengers, be intercession; in it, we secure the presence and power of God to go with us.”
